Crankbrothers has unveiled the Trail Speed Lace Vent Shoes, engineered to provide optimal airflow for those intense summer rides. These shoes are available in two configurations: the Mallet Trail Speed Lace Vent for clipless riders and the Stamp Trail Speed Lace Vent for flat pedal enthusiasts.
Design and Construction
Both models feature a synthetic upper with perforations to enhance breathability, ensuring comfort during extended rides. The Speed Lace closure system offers a secure fit, complemented by an integrated lace pocket for a streamlined appearance. A non-absorbent EVA foam tongue dries quickly after wet conditions, maintaining comfort throughout the ride. The reinforced TPU toe box provides impact resistance, while the relaxed fit design ensures all-day comfort.
Sole and Traction
The Mallet version utilizes a mid-friction MC1 rubber compound, balancing smooth pedal engagement with durability. In contrast, the Stamp model employs a high-friction MC2 rubber compound, delivering superior grip and reduced rebound, ideal for flat pedal riders seeking enhanced control. Both models incorporate a fiber-reinforced shank and an aggressive outsole lug pattern, offering pedaling efficiency and versatility across various terrains.
Compatibility and Sizing
The Mallet Trail Speed Lace Vent Shoes are compatible with Crankbrothers’ Match System, optimizing engagement for any MTB clip-in system, including SPD. They come pre-installed with a Crankbrothers cleat and a spacer, ready for immediate use with Crankbrothers pedals. The shoes are available in a new Bone-Grey colorway, designed to hide dust and absorb less heat. Sizing ranges from US men’s sizes 5-15 and women’s sizes 6.5-16.5 (Euro 37-49).
