by VeloMagster

Wilier Triestina has unveiled the Filante SL ID2, a more accessible iteration of its flagship Filante SLR ID2 aero bike. This model retains the aerodynamic design and racing geometry of its predecessor but incorporates cost-effective carbon lamination to reduce the overall price. Starting at €4,800, the Filante SL ID2 offers enthusiasts an entry point into Wilier’s high-performance aero bike lineup. (bikeradar.com)

The Filante SL ID2 boasts the same aerodynamic efficiency as the top-tier SLR ID2, delivering a 13.6% speed improvement over its predecessor, equating to a reduction of over 14 watts at 40 km/h. This performance is achieved through meticulous design and wind tunnel testing, ensuring optimal speed and stability. (discover.wilier.com)

The bike’s geometry is engineered for precise handling and high-speed stability, featuring a 541mm stack and a 992.9mm wheelbase in a medium size. These dimensions contribute to a planted feel, enhancing rider confidence during rapid accelerations and descents. (bikeradar.com)

Designed to meet contemporary cycling standards, the Filante SL ID2 accommodates up to 34mm tires, broadening its versatility across various road conditions. It also includes a Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) and a removable front derailleur mount, facilitating compatibility with SRAM’s full-mount 1×13 groupsets. (discover.wilier.com)

The bike is equipped with Wilier’s new R-Bar cockpit, featuring fully integrated cable routing and handlebars that flare out by 3cm to enhance ergonomics, control, and aerodynamics. Additionally, the integrated Aerokit SL bottle system offers improved hydration options without compromising aerodynamic performance. (discover.wilier.com)
