At the core of the URBAN is a pioneering Bafang 3-speed automatic gear system integrated into the rear hub motor. This system intuitively adjusts the gear ratio based on acceleration and deceleration, ensuring optimal performance in stop-and-go city traffic. The integration of VOLT’s SpinTech Drive system and a highly responsive torque sensor further enhances the riding experience, providing smooth and uninterrupted movement through urban environments. Notably, the Bafang H730 Automatic Gear Hub Motor recently received the ‘Excellent Product Design’ award at the German Design Awards.

Weighing just 17kg without the battery and 19.5kg with the removable Panasonic 36V lithium-ion battery, the URBAN strikes a balance between lightweight performance and everyday practicality. Riders can expect a range of up to 55 miles on a single charge. The inclusion of a suspension seat post helps absorb the imperfections of urban roads, enhancing comfort during commutes.

The URBAN continues VOLT’s design-led approach, drawing inspiration from its award-winning portfolio, including the VOLT LONDON. The e-bike is available in two frame styles: a step-through for easy access and a cross-bar frame reminiscent of traditional road bikes. Launch and Availability
The URBAN was officially launched at VOLT’s showroom, coinciding with the debut of the brand’s new podcast, On Your Bike. This series, developed in partnership with 90s fitness icon Mr. Motivator, explores movement, mindset, and mental well-being through accessible, everyday physical activity. The URBAN is available for purchase on VOLT’s official website and through a network of independent bike stores nationwide.
