Hope Technology has unveiled the EVO V6Ti brakes, a modern reimagining of their iconic six-piston caliper, first introduced in 2003. Celebrating 20 years since the original Mono 6Ti, the EVO V6Ti promises unparalleled braking performance, advanced heat management, and a design that pays homage to its predecessor.
Design and Features
At the core of the EVO V6Ti is a single-piece, CNC-machined caliper engineered for optimal stiffness-to-weight ratio. This design maximizes surface area, enhancing heat dissipation during intense descents. The caliper houses two 16mm and four 14mm titanium pistons, each coated with titanium nitride to reduce friction and improve durability. A cross-drilled piston design further enhances cooling performance during sustained braking. (cyclingindustry.news)
The caliper’s radial-mount design accommodates the six pistons and increases heat dissipation compared to conventional four-piston setups. This design requires a proprietary adapter and a +20mm disc diameter, making it compatible with post-mount forks and frames (PM180, PM200, and PM203) fitted with 200mm or 220mm rotors. Complementing the caliper is Hope’s new T-Slot vented rotor, developed specifically to improve thermal management. Cooling fins positioned between the braking surfaces help lower rotor temperatures, while the floating T-slot design allows the outer rotor to move independently under load, reducing the risk of distortion. For easier maintenance and lower running costs, the outer rotor can be replaced separately when worn, removing the need to replace the entire rotor assembly. (cyclingindustry.news)
Mono Edition
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Mono 6Ti, Hope is releasing a limited Mono Edition of the EVO V6Ti. Limited to 1,000 sets, each featuring a laser etching of its edition number, this exclusive version boasts a black and gold finish reminiscent of the original Mono 6Ti. The Mono Edition kit includes both brakes, a pair of T-Slot rotors, adapters, lever blades, and three sets of brake pads (Race, All-Conditions, and eBike). Priced at £1,400 / $1,940 / €1,750, the Mono Edition will be available from Hope dealers starting on August 1st, 2026. (blisterreview.com)
