Bravur Unveils the Grand Tour Sprinter: A Tribute to Cycling’s Fastest Finishers
Swedish watchmaker Bravur has introduced the Grand Tour Sprinter, a timepiece that pays homage to the most iconic cycling races and the athletes who excel in the sport’s most electrifying and strategically complex roles. (bikeradar.com)
Design Inspired by Road Racing
The Grand Tour Sprinter draws inspiration from cycling’s fastest finishers, embodying the essence of road racing through its design elements. The dial features a tarmac-like texture, grounding the watch visually in the road itself. The perimeter of the dial showcases finish-line markings reminiscent of a racecourse, extending onto the caseback. An inverted number 13 on the watch face nods to the superstitious tradition among professional riders who wear their bib number 13 upside down to ward off bad luck. At the 12 o’clock position, a triangle resembling the red triangular ‘flamme rouge’ flag marks one kilometre to the finish line, filled with Super-LumiNova phosphorescent pigment to serve as a luminous reference point. Functional Features for Cyclists
Departing from conventional 30-minute timers, the Grand Tour Sprinter includes a 15-minute sub-dial calibrated for interval training. This feature makes the watch genuinely useful as a training tool, whether for structured efforts on the road or informal timing that cyclists have traditionally done on the wrist. (bikeradar.com)
Swiss-Made Precision
Powered by the Swiss-made Sellita SW511 automatic chronograph movement, the Grand Tour Sprinter offers reliable performance. The 38.2mm case is available with a steel or purple aluminium bezel inlay, and the watch comes with a steel bracelet, leather strap, or a sporty black rubber strap. (bikeradar.com)
