Ass Savers Unveils ‘Bumbinos’ to Keep Young Cyclists Dry

Ass Savers, renowned for their innovative bicycle mudguards, has introduced ‘Bumbinos’, a new line of easy-to-install fenders designed specifically for children’s bikes. This initiative aims to protect young riders from rain and mud, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable cycling experience.

Addressing the Need for Youth-Friendly Mudguards

Cycling enthusiasts are familiar with the discomfort of a wet back due to splashing rainwater. While Ass Savers has long catered to adult cyclists, the company recognized a gap in the market for child-specific solutions. Drawing inspiration from their own experiences as parents, Ass Savers embarked on a five-year project to develop Bumbinos, focusing on creating mudguards that are both functional and appealing to children.

Fostering a Love for Cycling Through Play

The philosophy behind Bumbinos is straightforward: “If a bike becomes part of a child’s play, it will be used more often,” say the founders. By transforming the mudguard into a fun accessory, Ass Savers hopes to encourage children to ride their bikes in all weather conditions, making the journey to school or sports activities not only drier but also more enjoyable.

Splash Packs: A Fusion of Functionality and Fun

The ‘Splash Packs’ consist of lightweight front and rear mudguards that can be easily installed. To ignite children’s imagination, various themes are available, each accompanied by matching stickers, allowing young riders to customize their bikes to their liking.

Product Details and Availability

Manufactured entirely in Sweden, the Bumbinos sets are available in two sizes: one for 14 to 16-inch bikes (suitable for children aged 3 to 6 years) and another for 18 to 20-inch bikes (for 6 to 9-year-olds). A complete Splash Pack is priced at €35, with individual, interchangeable blades starting at €19.
