Ride the Future: Megamo’s Avinox E-Gravel Revolution

by VeloMagster

Megamo has unveiled the Along series for the 2027 model year, introducing five e-gravel bikes that embody a singular philosophy: the optimal ride is one that persists, irrespective of the terrain’s unpredictability. Each model features a carbon frame, the innovative Avinox motor system, and a 600 Wh integrated battery, setting a new benchmark for assisted gravel cycling.

A Carbon Frame as the Foundation

The backbone of every Along model is a meticulously engineered carbon frame, designed to absorb the vibrations and uncertainties of mixed terrains while maintaining the efficiency essential for extended rides. The frame’s geometry accommodates 50c tire clearance as a fundamental standard, ensuring that the design is tailored to the tire, not the other way around. Top-tier models boast full cable integration and a one-piece carbon cockpit, enhancing both aesthetics and aerodynamics—benefits that become increasingly apparent during prolonged rides.

Avinox Motor: Gravel-Tuned from the Factory

The Along series is powered by two variants of the Avinox motor family. The M2S, featured in the Along 01, 03 CW, and 03 models, delivers 130 Nm of torque and a peak power of 1,300 W. Its assistance modes are specifically calibrated for gravel use, offering smooth power delivery on rolling terrains, progressive support on climbs, and sufficient reserve for technical sections without feeling artificial. The M2, found in the Along 10 and Flatbar models, provides 110 Nm of torque and a peak power of 1,100 W—ample for mixed-surface adventures, all while keeping the bike’s weight and price accessible. Both motors are paired with the Avinox DPC100 display, which is legible and intuitive, seamlessly integrating into the frame’s design.

SRAM XPLR: The Natural Choice for E-Gravel

Three of the five Along models are equipped with SRAM’s XPLR platform—Force AXS on the Along 01, and Rival AXS on the Along 03 CW and 03. This choice is deliberate, as XPLR was engineered specifically for gravel riding, featuring a 13-speed cassette that offers a wide range without the need for a front derailleur, wireless shifting that eliminates cable routing complexities, and proven reliability under load and in variable conditions. For the Along 10 and Flatbar models, Shimano’s GRX and Deore families provide a robust, intuitive, and straightforward mechanical system that is easy to service anywhere in the world.

600 Wh Battery: Built for the Distance

Each Along model is equipped with a 600 Wh Avinox battery integrated into the down tube, sized to match the range’s ambitions. Top-spec models charge via the 12A fast charger, reducing downtime between stages. The Along 10 and Flatbar use the standard 4A charger, still capable of a full charge overnight and ready for the next morning’s ride.

Wheels and Tires: 50c for Every Surface

The Vittoria Terreno T50 Mixed 50c tires are standard across the entire Along range. They are fast enough on packed gravel and tarmac connectors, with the volume and profile to absorb rougher tracks and provide confidence on loose descents. Wheel quality scales with the model: carbon Vision TC45 i30 rims on the 01 and 03 CW for stiffness and low rotational weight, and Megamo’s own All Road aluminium wheels on the 03, 10, and Flatbar—strong, reliable, and proven on demanding terrain.

Five Versions. One Identity.

From the Along 01 at €7,999—with SRAM Force AXS, DT Swiss F132 fork, and carbon Vision wheels—to the Along Flatbar at €3,699, configured for riders who want e-gravel versatility in a flat-bar format. Every model shares the same frame, the same battery capacity, and the same tire philosophy. What changes is the level of componentry, not the character of the bike.
