This model builds upon the established Lorax platform, renowned for its adaptability and rugged performance.
Design and Features
The Lorax 32 features a seamless, quadruple-butted 4130 Chromoly steel frame, ensuring durability and a responsive ride. It offers clearance for 32 x 2.2″ tires, with the ability to accommodate up to 2.4″ tires, providing versatility across various terrains. The frame is equipped with Esker’s adjustable Portage dropouts, allowing for easy adaptation to single-speed setups and future upgrades. A rigid 495mm axle-to-crown fork complements the frame, enhancing stability and control. The bike is adorned with multiple mounting points, including top-tube bosses, three-pack mounts in the main triangle and under the downtube, and rack mounts, facilitating extensive customization for bikepacking adventures.
Geometry and Sizing
The Lorax 32 is available in four sizes (M-XXL), each featuring a 68.5°/69° head tube angle, a 99mm bottom bracket drop, a 73.5°/74° effective seat tube angle, and 470-485mm chainstays. This geometry is designed to provide a balanced and comfortable riding experience across diverse terrains.
Pre-Order Details
To bring the Lorax 32 to production, Esker Cycles requires a minimum of 20 pre-orders. Once this threshold is met, production and shipping are expected to take approximately 120 days. If the minimum number of pre-orders is not reached, orders will be canceled and refunded. This approach allows Esker to gauge demand and manage production efficiently. Pre-orders are available for the frame and fork, with options to build a complete bike closer to the delivery date. The starting price is $1,250 USD for the Lorax 32 frame with a Fork Yeah! fork in the ED Black Darkness color. For $1,400, customers can opt for the frame, fork, and a paint job in either “Aurora,” a dark metallic purple, or “Desert,” a bright orange. An upgrade to an ENVE Mountain carbon fork is also available for either option.
