In a vibrant fusion of pop culture and competitive cycling, Factor has unveiled two custom-painted Factor ONE aero bikes adorned with SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star graphics. These eye-catching designs are set to make their debut at the 2026 Tour de France Femmes, adding a splash of cartoon flair to the prestigious event.
The SpongeBob-themed bike will be ridden by the Human Powered Health team, while Ma Petite Entreprise will showcase the Patrick Star edition. Both bikes are built on Factor’s high-performance ONE aero platform, providing ample canvas for the intricate artwork that spans the deep fork legs, broad tube shapes, and aero frame sections.
The designs draw inspiration from Jason Freeny’s XXRAY series, offering a unique split-view perspective that combines cartoon aesthetics with anatomical details. The Human Powered Health bike features vibrant yellow and blue hues, with character graphics seamlessly integrated into the frame and fork. In contrast, the Ma Petite Entreprise bike boasts pink and purple tones, with matching details across the same Factor ONE chassis.
Despite their playful exteriors, these bikes are engineered for serious racing. Both teams are sponsored by SRAM, equipping the bikes with SRAM Red AXS drivetrains. Additionally, they are fitted with Black Inc 62 wheels from Factor’s in-house component brand, ensuring top-tier performance on the demanding stages of the Tour de France Femmes.
This collaboration is not Factor’s first venture into limited-edition designs and artist collaborations. Previously, the brand has undertaken high-profile projects, including the $25,000 UCI-illegal Bugatti Factor ONE. Earlier this season, Human Powered Health and Modern Adventure Pro Cycling raced Factor Monzas with graphics from Belgian artist Vexx at Paris-Roubaix.
The 2026 Tour de France Femmes is set to commence on August 1, 2026, featuring a nine-day, 1,175 km route that begins with a Grand Départ in Lausanne, Switzerland. The race will traverse three main French regions, ending in Nice, while incorporating iconic climbs such as Mont Ventoux and four ascents of Col d’Eze. Notably, this year’s route includes the Tour’s first-ever ascent of Mont Ventoux, raising the elevation profile to a record 18,795 meters. (cyclingnews.com)
As the race unfolds, the SpongeBob and Patrick-themed bikes are poised to be among the most distinctive and memorable machines in the peloton, blending the worlds of animation and elite cycling in a celebration of creativity and performance.
