Velosolutions, the renowned global leader in pump track design and construction, has unveiled the Vorld App, a groundbreaking tool that revolutionizes the way riders engage with Velosolutions Pump Tracks worldwide. This innovative application offers precise lap timing, comprehensive rankings, and fosters a vibrant community of cycling enthusiasts.
A Decade in the Making
The inception of the Vorld App traces back nine years, when Velosolutions embarked on a mission to develop a precise lap timing system that eliminated the need for riders to purchase or use transponders. The result is a seamless integration of technology and cycling, enhancing the riding experience without additional equipment.
Global Expansion and Community Engagement
Since its launch, the Vorld App has been integrated into over 200 Velosolutions Pump Tracks across 26 countries, with new installations added weekly. Riders can now earn points by placing on daily and monthly leaderboards, with rankings based on lap times and total laps ridden. This system rewards both speed and consistency, encouraging riders to frequent the tracks and improve their performance.
Inclusive Rankings for All Disciplines
The Vorld App offers separate rankings for various age groups and disciplines, including bike, skateboard, inline skates, scooter, and wheelchair. Additionally, an overall ranking is available for those who participate in multiple disciplines, promoting inclusivity and recognizing diverse riding talents.
How It Works
-
Download and Setup: The Vorld App is available for free on both iOS and Android platforms. After downloading, riders create a profile, select their age category and discipline, and locate the nearest Velosolutions Pump Track equipped with a Vorld Gate.
-
Session Initiation: Upon arriving at the track, riders open the app, start their session, and place their smartphone in their trouser pocket. This positioning ensures accurate timing, as the phone detects the Vorld Gate’s signal when crossing the red Vorld Line.
-
Riding and Timing: As riders build speed and cross the red Vorld Line, the app automatically starts the stopwatch. Each completed lap is recorded, and lap times are measured upon crossing the line again.
-
Session Completion and Rankings: After finishing a session, riders can view the total number of laps, lap times, and their position in the current rankings. Points are awarded daily and monthly, contributing to the global Vorld Ranking.
Invisible Technology for Seamless Experience
The Vorld Gate is discreetly embedded beneath the track’s surface, requiring no power or maintenance. This invisible technology ensures a seamless experience for riders, eliminating the need for additional equipment or setup.
