Departing from traditional stitched canvas, the Mattone Ultimate employs RF-welded exterior panels crafted from TPU composite fabric. This seamless construction not only enhances durability but also reduces water ingress, ensuring the contents remain dry in adverse conditions. The design allows the pack to sit closer to the saddle rails, maintaining a streamlined silhouette.
Weight and Capacity
Weighing a mere 44 grams (1.55 ounces), the Mattone Ultimate is 50% lighter than its predecessor, the 90-gram original Mattone. Despite its compact size, it offers a 0.4L main compartment and a flat lid pocket, providing ample space for essentials such as a spare tube, tire levers, and a multi-tool.
Closure System
The pack features the BOA® Li2 closure system, an upgrade from the original’s standard dial and open guide loop. This system utilizes a low-profile metal dial and soft TX4 lace cable, delivering smooth and precise operation. It offers micro-adjustable compression, securely tightening the TPU body and eliminating sway during rides.
