Klever N Pinion 45Klever N Pinion 45: Affordable Speed Pedelec with Premium Technology

In recent years, Klever Mobility has established a strong reputation in the speed pedelec market, particularly with its premium models that emphasize powerful performance, high-quality finishes, and a focus on safety. With the updated Klever N Pinion 45, the brand aims to make this advanced technology more accessible to a broader audience. Our recent test reveals that this speed pedelec is clearly designed for cyclists seeking high quality without venturing into the highest price brackets.

Premium Feel Without the Premium Price Tag

In today’s market, a decent speed pedelec often comes with a price tag of €8,000 or more. The Klever N Pinion 45 challenges this norm. Starting at approximately €5,999, it positions itself as a more accessible alternative within the premium segment. (klever-mobility.com)

This doesn’t mean that essential components have been compromised. During our test, we were particularly impressed by the thoughtful selection of parts. Safety remains paramount at speeds up to 45 km/h, and this is immediately evident in the bike’s stability and overall riding experience.

Sleek Design with a Focus on Comfort

Klever stays true to its recognizable style with the N Pinion 45. It appears less bulky than some other speed pedelecs on the market, almost resembling a regular trekking bike. Yet, it exudes enough sturdiness to inspire confidence at higher speeds.

Weighing approximately 27 kilograms without the battery, it remains relatively light for a speed pedelec. This additional weight contributes to enhanced stability during fast rides. The aluminum frame feels robust, and the finish is well-executed.

During our test, the comfortable riding behavior stood out. Thanks to the slightly curved handlebar design and adjustable stem, you can tailor the riding position to your personal preference. Both sporty and more upright cyclists can quickly find a comfortable stance.

High-Quality Components Make the Difference

Klever clearly avoids cheap compromises. The front fork feels high-quality and can be adjusted according to use. The Pirelli Angel GT Urban tires significantly contribute to the stable riding feel. They combine low rolling resistance with sufficient grip, even on less-than-perfect surfaces.

Additionally, the bike features sturdy fenders, a robust rear rack with a load capacity of up to 25 kilograms, and powerful lighting with high and low beam functions. A notable detail is the integrated turn signals, which have become almost a trademark of Klever. Especially at higher speeds, these enhance safety and comfort.

New Pinion Gearbox Provides a Significant Upgrade

The main innovation for 2026 lies in the technology. The updated N Pinion 45 utilizes the Pinion C1.9 gearbox with nine internal gears. This system is typically found on more expensive speed pedelecs and feels particularly refined during riding.

The significant advantage of such a closed gear system is its durability and low maintenance. The gears shift smoothly and offer sufficient range for both urban commutes and longer rides at higher speeds.

During our test, we particularly noticed that the nine gears strike a nice balance. While there are systems with six or twelve gears, this configuration feels particularly logical for daily use.

True 45 km/h Performance

The motor has also received an upgrade. Where earlier versions used a 600-watt rear motor, this updated version features the more powerful Biactron 2.0 motor with 800 watts. The difference is immediately noticeable.

Acceleration is powerful and smooth, allowing the bike to reach 45 km/h relatively quickly. More importantly, it maintains this speed comfortably. This sets it apart from some mid-motor speed pedelecs that officially reach 45 km/h but, in reality, comfortably ride around 35 to 38 km/h.

Klever refers to this as “Real 45,” and during our test, we fully understand why. The support feels powerful yet controlled. Thanks to the combination of pedal, torque, and speed sensors, the motor responds very naturally.

Flexible Battery Options

Klever also offers various battery options. Cyclists can choose between an 850 Wh, 1,200 Wh, or even a massive 1,600 Wh battery. This allows you to tailor the bike to your own usage.

For shorter commutes, the smaller battery is perfectly sufficient and saves some weight. Those who ride longer distances daily will certainly appreciate the larger battery options. During our test, we particularly noticed how logical this flexibility is within the speed pedelec segment.

Strong Price-Quality Ratio

The updated Klever N Pinion 45 doesn’t aim to be the most luxurious or extreme speed pedelec on the market. What it does is offer premium technology and high-quality components at a price that feels more realistic within this segment.

During our test, the combination of comfort, powerful performance, high-quality finish, and smart technical choices proved particularly strong. For those looking for a fast, stable, and reliable speed pedelec without venturing into the absolute top prices, this Klever is undoubtedly one of the most interesting models available.
