Reya’s Forbidden Journey: Unleashing Adventure

by VeloMagster

Forbidden Bike Company, based in British Columbia, has unveiled the Reya, a full-suspension downcountry bike engineered for extensive backcountry excursions, cross-country technical trails, and everything in between. Departing from their traditional chain-routed designs, the Reya introduces a fresh approach to mountain biking.

Design and Features

The Reya showcases Forbidden’s distinctive carbon frame, now without idlers or high pivots. It features a 120mm-travel shock paired with a 130mm-travel fork, accommodating 29 x 2.6″ tires. The bike employs a Horst-link pivot and a proprietary suspension kinematic termed “TRIFECTA,” aiming to maximize performance across various terrains. The frame includes mounts beneath the top tube for a mini cargo mount or pump and a single bottle cage mount on the downtube. Prioritizing shock placement, Forbidden has opted for internal cable routing, a 31.6mm seatpost diameter, and a 73mm BSA threaded bottom bracket.

Geometry

Available in four sizes, the Reya maintains a 65° head tube angle, a 42mm bottom bracket drop, and proportional rear centers ranging from 420mm to 464mm. The geometry chart provides detailed measurements for each size, ensuring a tailored fit for diverse riders.

Build Options and Pricing

The Reya is offered in three complete build kits, starting with the top-tier Tier 1 build at $10,499 USD ($12,999 CAD) and descending to the Tier 3 build at $6,299 USD ($7,699 CAD). Frame kits are also available for $3,399 USD ($4,199 CAD). Color options include Golden Brown and Grey Chapter.
