by VeloMagster

In a remarkable display of endurance and innovation, the Ahooga A-MAX folding bike successfully completed the grueling 170-kilometer Paris-Roubaix sportive, renowned for its punishing cobblestone sectors. Rider Jérémy Poiré navigated the challenging course, which included 29 cobblestone sections totaling 173.3 kilometers, in just over six hours, maintaining an average speed of 28 km/h.

Remarkably, the A-MAX experienced no mechanical issues or punctures throughout the ride, underscoring its durability and the effectiveness of its design. This performance garnered significant attention, with fellow participants offering positive feedback and expressing admiration for the bike’s resilience and Poiré’s determination.

This achievement is part of Ahooga’s broader strategy to test the limits of their folding bike platform, positioning the A-MAX as a versatile option that combines the convenience of a folding bike with the performance characteristics of a traditional road bike. The A-MAX has previously been tested in various demanding conditions, including a gravel race in Rwanda, consistently demonstrating its adaptability and robustness.

Ahooga describes the A-MAX as “a commuter bike with the soul of a racer,” highlighting its dual-purpose design that caters to both urban commuting and long-distance cycling challenges. The company expresses pride in the bike’s performance and Poiré’s accomplishment, emphasizing their commitment to pushing the boundaries of folding bike capabilities.

Looking ahead, Ahooga plans to continue testing the A-MAX’s limits with upcoming events, including the Race Across Germany—a 1,000-kilometer journey over four days—with Poiré once again at the helm. These endeavors aim to further establish the A-MAX as a reliable and high-performing option for cyclists seeking versatility and performance in a folding bike.
