Magene’s Elite Cyclocomputer

by VeloMagster

Magene, a Chinese cycling technology company, has recently expanded its lineup with the introduction of the C706, a top-tier GPS cycling computer designed for advanced training management and navigation. This model complements the existing C606 Pro, which was unveiled on March 5, 2026.

Display and Customization

The C706 boasts a 3.3-inch color TFT touchscreen, featuring an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts the backlight for optimal visibility. Riders can configure up to 10 data pages per riding mode, selecting from 105 data fields across 14 categories. Additionally, the device includes a customizable multicolor LED line, providing functional visual feedback during rides.

Hardware and Navigation

Constructed with a compact design, the C706 features a robust metal rear mount compatible with Garmin standards, ensuring enhanced stability compared to traditional plastic inserts. For navigation, the device integrates an audio system that delivers turn-by-turn voice prompts. It offers two route recalculation modes: “Destination Direction,” which identifies the shortest path to the destination, and “Nearest Rejoin Point,” guiding users back to the original route at the closest point. Notably, both recalculation modes function both online (via smartphone) and entirely offline. The C706 also includes “Back to Start” functionality and the ability to manage saved locations.

ClimbPro and Training Features

The C706 introduces the “Full-Scenario ClimbPro” system, enhancing climb monitoring. Beyond analyzing imported routes, it features “Free Ride ClimbPro,” which automatically detects the start of a climb even without a pre-loaded route, and “Mid-Climb Entry,” which identifies entry into an ongoing climb. During rides, essential data such as length, elevation gain, average gradient, current gradient, and distance to summit are displayed in real-time. The device also offers native integration with Strava for segment analysis.

Connectivity and Compatibility

Equipped with 8 GB of internal memory, the C706 supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and ANT+ protocols, ensuring broad compatibility with third-party sensors, including power meters, heart rate monitors, speed and cadence sensors, rear radars, and smart trainers. The device allows assignment of specific functions to buttons on electronic shifters and offers control of compatible action cameras directly from the display. Synchronization is managed through the OnelapFit app.
