Paire de roues Evoride EvoCross 29 – Holographique – 1495gr – 15×110 / 12×148 – Shimano Micro Spline – 6 trous – 2022 | Alltricks.frEvoride, the French brand renowned for its handcrafted carbon wheels, has unveiled its 2027 cross-country lineup, introducing the EvoCross and the premium EvoCross SL models. Both feature innovative carbon rims and hubs designed and manufactured in France, reflecting Evoride’s commitment to quality and local production.
EvoCross: Enhanced Carbon Rims and EC Hubs
The EvoCross model has been updated with new carbon rims that differ between the front and rear wheels. These rims have a slightly narrower profile compared to the EvoCross SL, with internal widths of 28 mm at the rear and 30 mm at the front. Constructed from high-quality carbon fibers, they incorporate wide bead hooks (3.5 mm at the front and 4.5 mm at the rear) to prevent pinch flats. Available in 29″ and 32″ sizes, the rims weigh 325 g and 345 g, respectively.
The wheels are equipped with Evoride’s new EC hub, featuring a classic yet lightweight design and a 60-tooth ratchet freehub system. The French-made hub from the SL model is also available as an option. The complete wheelset, with Sapim CX-Ray spokes, is priced starting at €999 and weighs approximately 1,280 g.
EvoCross SL: Premium Carbon Rims and EC SL Hubs
The EvoCross SL targets the high-end market with exclusive carbon rims developed to Evoride’s precise specifications. These rims are paired with the new EC SL hub, which has been designed in-house and machined in Cluses, France. The wheelset weighs 1,195 g with Sapim CX-Ray spokes and can be reduced to 1,090 g using Berd textile spokes.
The EC SL hub features a patented conical ratchet system with KONIK D2W technology, offering 80 engagement points. This design ensures immediate engagement with each pedal stroke and maintains engagement under load. The bearings are preloaded to maintain constant tension, preventing play over time and ensuring smooth operation. The hub body is machined from 7075 T73 aluminum, with oversized 7 mm bearings at the rear for enhanced durability. The wheelset is available in silver or black, with all hubs hand-assembled in Annecy-le-Vieux.
Rim Design and Customization
The EvoCross SL rims are designed with a reduced height of 18 mm, balancing comfort and strength. The internal widths are 31 mm at the front and 29 mm at the rear, with a 4 mm asymmetry to balance spoke tensions. Molded spoke holes reinforce the rim, and an anti-vibration insert in the wide bead hooks enhances comfort and durability. The rims are finished with a raw mold appearance, showcasing the carbon fiber weave. The front rim weighs 278 g, and the rear rim 308 g, with a tolerance of ±15 g.
Each wheelset is hand-assembled in Evoride’s Annecy-le-Vieux workshop, ensuring durability and optimal performance. Standard builds come with Sapim CX-Ray spokes, with options for Alpina Ultralite (saving 40 g per pair), Alpina Extralite (adding approximately 50 g), or Berd polymer spokes (saving 125 g). Customization options include spoke lacing patterns, spoke and nipple colors, valve and hub colors, ceramic bearings, and various freehub bodies compatible with all market drivetrains.
Evoride’s EvoCross and EvoCross SL wheelsets are the result of extensive testing in high-level competitions, including Olympic cross-country and marathon events, prior to their commercial release in late 2026. This rigorous testing underscores Evoride’s dedication to delivering high-performance, locally crafted products to the cycling community.
