Over two days and eight challenging stages, Charre and Dailly showcased exceptional skill and determination, securing the top spots in their respective categories.
Women’s Elite:
The women’s competition was marked by a remarkable performance from German rider Helen Weber, who led after the first day and maintained her position until the penultimate stage. However, Charre, returning from an early-season injury, capitalised on her local knowledge to deliver a stellar final stage, posting the fastest time and overtaking Weber to claim victory with an 11-second margin. This win not only secured Charre’s triumph in Morillon but also propelled her to the top of the overall season standings, surpassing Ella Conolly, who faced challenges throughout the weekend but managed to finish fifth. Isabeau Courdurier, making a strong comeback after her 2026 pregnancy, delivered an impressive second day, including a special stage win, to finish seventh, just ahead of Mélanie Pugin.
Men’s Elite:
In the men’s category, Canadian rider Lief Rodgers was the one to beat for the overall title. Adrien Dailly, fully aware of the stakes, engaged in a fierce battle against Rodgers and Finnish competitor Tarmo Ryynänen. Dailly’s consistent performance throughout the weekend culminated in a decisive victory in Morillon, securing both the race win and the overall season title for the Speed Project team. Rodgers finished sixth, missing out on the championship, while Belgian rider Gabriel Sainthuile impressed with a third-place finish, marking the first Belgian podium in the EDR since Martin Maes’ departure from the discipline. French rider Marius Tenet also delivered an outstanding performance, finishing just ahead of JT Fisher.
The 2026 EDR season concluded with these remarkable performances, setting the stage for the upcoming World Championships in Finale Ligure.
