Forestière 2026: A New Beginning with Exciting Finals and Attractive Pricing
The Forestière 2026 is set to take place on September 19-20, 2026, in the picturesque Jura and Ain regions of France. This iconic mountain biking event promises a fresh start with a new departure point, thrilling finals, and competitive pricing.
Saturday, September 19: The Premier Event – Marathon, The Autumn Legend
The Forestière Marathon will commence in Longchaumois and conclude in Arbent. The race will cover 110 km for Elite Men, 85 km for Elite Women, and 85 km for Juniors and Opens. This new route introduces slight modifications, omitting Saint-Claude and La Pesse, challenging participants to adapt their strategies for optimal performance. The marathon will serve as the French XCM Championship and the final round of the Alpine Cup.
The Rides
To explore the Jura, various rides are offered between Longchaumois, Lélex, and Arbent, available in mountain biking (85, 68, or 33 km) or e-mountain biking (68 or 33 km). A two-day guided ride (GPS-guided) is available for the more ambitious participants. For those with a penchant for culinary delights, a “gourmet ride” is scheduled on Saturday, covering 20 km.
Forest’kids
Events for the younger generation will be held in Arbent, featuring a balance bike challenge (2-5 years), a U9 race (6-8 years), and a U13 race (9-12 years).
Randuro
An enduro ride is available starting from Arbent, featuring six un-timed special stages: two blue, three red, and one black.
Sunday, September 20: XCO in Arbent
The village will host the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Cup with races for U17, U19, Master 35, 40, 45, and, of course, Elite and U23 events.
Pricing
Registrations made before August 15, 2026, will benefit from a reduced rate, with prices increasing one week before the event.
Before the Event
The organization is planning a “Forest Ride” on August 29 to discover the new departure point of the event. A visit to the Longchaumois bike park is included for a fun experience. Two loops will be offered: a family-friendly/general public route (approximately 20 km and 350 m elevation gain) and a more athletic route (approximately 30 km and 800 m elevation gain).
