Forbidden Bike Company has unveiled the Reya, a short-travel trail bike that marks a significant departure from their traditional high-pivot designs. With 120mm of rear travel and a 130mm fork, the Reya is tailored for riders seeking a versatile and responsive ride on diverse terrains.
Design and Suspension
Departing from Forbidden’s signature high-pivot suspension, the Reya features a conventional four-bar linkage system, commonly known as the Horst Link. This design choice aims to deliver a more traditional trail bike experience, emphasizing efficiency and responsiveness. The frame is constructed entirely from carbon fiber, with an estimated weight of approximately 2.27 kg (5 lbs) without the shock. Notably, the Reya omits internal cable routing to reduce weight and includes a single bottle cage mount to enhance frame rigidity. The shock is positioned low, near the bottom bracket, to lower the center of gravity and improve handling.
Geometry
The Reya’s geometry reflects Forbidden’s gravity-oriented design philosophy. It boasts a 65° head angle, a 77° seat angle, and a reach of 475mm in size S3. These dimensions are designed to provide a stable yet agile ride, suitable for a wide range of trail conditions.
Pricing and Availability
The Reya is available in three build configurations, with prices starting at €7,299. The top-tier model is priced at €10,999 and weighs in at 11.27 kg (24.8 lbs). A frame-only option is also available for €3,799.
