Cycle Forward: Expanding Horizons 2027

by VeloMagster

Cyclingworld Europe is set to enhance its exhibition format starting in 2027, responding to the growing demand from the cycling industry and trade professionals while maintaining its identity as a consumer-focused event. The primary change involves extending Friday into a full exhibition day, providing more opportunities for visitors, brands, and dealers to connect.

Friday Becomes a Full Exhibition Day

Beginning with the 2027 edition, Cyclingworld Europe will open on Friday, March 12, at 12:00 PM, continuing until 8:00 PM. Previously, the first exhibition day was accessible to the public only in the evening; now, the program will run throughout the day, including popular test rides. This adjustment aims to better distribute visitor traffic over the entire weekend and offer manufacturers, dealers, and consumers more time to discover products, exchange experiences, and establish new contacts.

No Separate Trade Day

Despite ongoing discussions within the cycling sector about the necessity of a separate B2B day, Cyclingworld Europe has consciously chosen a different approach. There will be no exclusive trade day on Thursday. Instead, the organization intends to integrate the trade and industry more closely into the existing exhibition concept.

“Cyclingworld has always primarily been a B2C exhibition, and that will remain our identity,” says exhibition director Stefan Maly. According to him, the focus is on providing a qualitative experience for trade visitors within the same exhibition environment as consumers.

More Time for Setup

The additional exhibition day also affects preparations behind the scenes. Exhibitors will have two full setup days on Wednesday and Thursday, allowing for a more relaxed assembly of stands before the exhibition begins. Additionally, Cyclingworld is working on a new digital exhibitor portal that centralizes all orders and administrative processes, significantly simplifying preparation for participating brands and companies.

Nearly Fully Booked

The continued strong interest in Cyclingworld Europe is evident from the exhibition floor occupancy rate. The 2027 edition is already about 97% booked. Requests from existing exhibitors to expand their stands are only approved in exceptional cases, as the organization consciously wants to reserve space for new brands.

“Fewer exhibitors on the same or even larger exhibition area is not what we want,” says Joey Stoczek, who has been part of the management team since 2025.

Cyclingworld Europe 2027 will take place from March 12 to 14, 2027, at Areal Böhler in Düsseldorf. With these enhancements, the exhibition is set to become an even more significant meeting place for both cycling enthusiasts and the cycling industry.
