Yamaha Motor eBike Systems has unveiled a significant performance enhancement for its QORE e-bike system, offering a free power upgrade to all current and future owners of Waldbike and Campus e-bikes equipped with QORE. This advancement is facilitated through the QORE eBike App, which now supports over-the-air (OTA) updates, allowing riders to conveniently download and install the upgrade at home.
Enhanced Performance Specifications
The OTA update delivers a substantial boost in power and torque for the QORE drive units:
-
Drive³ Peak Model: The peak power increases from 600 to 800 watts, and the maximum torque rises from 95 to 105 Newton-meters, while maintaining rider assistance up to 600%.
-
Drive³ Power Model: The peak power is elevated from 500 to 700 watts, with torque increasing from 80 to 90 Newton-meters, and rider assistance remains at 410%.
These enhancements are available to all owners of the latest Waldbike and Campus e-bike models equipped with QORE (model year 2026). E-bikes produced after the update’s release on June 1, 2026, will come factory-equipped with the new performance specifications at no additional cost.
Over-the-Air Updates for User Convenience
The QORE eBike App now enables over-the-air updates, allowing riders to update their drive system themselves with just a few clicks. This process can be completed conveniently at home on a smartphone, eliminating the need for time-consuming visits to the dealer and associated labor costs.
Future Developments
Looking ahead, Yamaha plans to introduce additional hardware enhancements to the QORE system in the first half of 2027. These include the Display Control Integrate, which can be integrated into the top tube, and the Remote control unit, designed to provide a compact and minimalist user interface. These developments aim to further enhance the user experience and integration of the QORE system.
About Yamaha eBike Systems
On August 1, 2025, Yamaha Motor Corporation fully acquired the e-bike division of the German automotive supplier Brose, headquartered in Berlin, and reestablished it as Yamaha Motor eBike Systems GmbH. Since then, the company has continued to evolve with the goal of further expanding its presence and growth in the European e-bike market.
About the QORE eBike System
QORE was officially launched at Eurobike 2025 and is installed in the current e-bike generations (model year 2026) from manufacturers Waldbike and Campus. The drive system stands out for its flexibility and versatile applications – in addition to the main components (drive, battery, and display), up to four additional third-party components can be connected. Highlights include the natural, quiet, and powerful Drive³ Peak and Drive³ Power motors, a long range thanks to the 800-watt-hour battery, and the user-friendly end-user app that supports over-the-air updates.
