Aero Advantage: Hunt’s 100mm TT Wheel

by VeloMagster

At Eurobike 2026, Hunt unveiled a prototype time trial (TT) wheel that signifies a bold step in aerodynamic engineering. This 100mm deep-section wheel, weighing a mere 750g, is designed to enhance rider stability, allowing athletes to maintain their aero position with increased confidence.

The wheel’s design draws inspiration from Hunt’s Limitless range, incorporating the same hub and spoke configuration. It features a 22mm internal width with hooked rims, optimized for aerodynamics while ensuring structural integrity. Bladed carbon spokes, equipped with titanium nipples and ends, are arranged in a 5 and 10 pattern, contributing to the wheel’s lightweight and robust construction.

Rob Fields, Head of Engineering and Product at The Rider Firm, emphasized the wheel’s dual focus: “While the wheel has been optimized for aerodynamics, we’ve also looked to create a stable wheel that gives increased confidence to riders, letting them stay in their aero position in situations where they might not have.”

This prototype has already undergone testing with professional riders, indicating Hunt’s ambition to re-enter the professional peloton in the near future. While pricing details remain undisclosed, the wheel is expected to be available by the end of the year.

The unveiling of this prototype at Eurobike 2026 underscores Hunt’s commitment to innovation in cycling technology, aiming to provide riders with equipment that enhances performance and stability.
