Maxxis Unveils Game-Changing 32” Tyres: Meet MaxxTerra and Aspen AT!

by VeloMagster

Maxxis, a leading tire manufacturer, has unveiled two significant additions to its lineup: the Aspen AT cross-country tire and a new range of 32-inch mountain bike tires. These innovations underscore Maxxis’s commitment to meeting the evolving demands of riders, from the rigorous challenges of modern cross-country courses to the exploration of new performance frontiers in wheel and tire design.

Aspen AT: Bridging Speed and Versatility

Building upon the legacy of the Aspen family, renowned in cross-country racing, the Aspen AT introduces an updated tread profile designed to enhance control and confidence across diverse terrains. This tire is strategically positioned between pure race tires and more aggressive trail options, catering to riders seeking a versatile solution capable of handling the multifaceted demands of contemporary cross-country riding.

32-Inch Tires: Pioneering New Dimensions

In a forward-thinking move, Maxxis has expanded its offerings with a family of 32-inch mountain bike tires. By increasing the overall wheel diameter, this new platform delivers measurable gains in rollover capability, traction, and high-speed stability, particularly in rough terrain. While not intended to replace existing wheel sizes, 32-inch tires offer a novel option for riders and builders interested in maximizing momentum, smoothing trail feedback, and unlocking new riding possibilities. Available at launch in Aspen ST, Aspen, and Aspen AT tread patterns, with Forekaster and Dissector models expected in the third quarter.

MaxxTerra Compound: A Performance Upgrade

Maxxis has also announced the next generation of the popular MaxxTerra rubber compound, delivering significant gains in durability and traction while maintaining the rolling efficiency riders expect from the brand’s performance mountain bike tires. The updated compound will roll out across the full range of Maxxis trail tires in phases, with the first phase available now. The new generation MaxxTerra is identified by a “New MaxxTerra” graphic on the packaging, and the tech badge on the tire now reads only “MaxxTerra” compared with the old version, which said “3C MaxxTerra”.

These developments reflect Maxxis’s dedication to advancing tire technology, ensuring riders have access to products that enhance performance, durability, and overall riding experience.
