This updated range features category-specific asymmetrical welded aluminum rims and lightweight carbon rims tailored for cross-country enthusiasts prioritising weight savings. Complementing these rims are the reliable 350 hubs, adapted for various riding styles, and the weight-saving DT Competition Race spokes.
The E1700 line-up caters to a wide spectrum of mountain biking activities, from chasing personal bests on local single trails to conquering challenging Enduro tracks. DT Swiss emphasizes that the 1700 series is engineered to deliver “all fun, no fuss.”
Category-Specific Asymmetrical Rims
All rims in the 1700 series now feature an asymmetrical design, ensuring a stronger wheel build through more even spoke tension. This design enhancement contributes to improved durability and performance across various mountain biking disciplines.
350 Hubs
For cross-country applications, the E1700 line utilizes the lightweight Ratchet hub, hand-laced onto a carbon rim to minimize weight. In contrast, the All Mountain, Enduro, and Hybrid wheels are equipped with the robust 350 DEG DF hub, known for its reliability and performance under demanding conditions.
DT Competition Race Spokes
To further reduce weight without compromising stiffness and durability, the DT Competition Race spokes feature an extra-thin middle section. This design ensures optimal performance while maintaining the structural integrity of the wheelset.
