The Tour of Holland is set to undergo a significant transformation in 2026, rebranding as the Eneco Tour and expanding to include both men’s and women’s races. This evolution marks a pivotal moment in Dutch cycling, aiming to create a unified and inclusive event that resonates with a broader audience.
A New Era for Dutch Cycling
Scheduled from October 13 to 18, 2026, the Eneco Tour will feature six stages traversing various provinces, including a prologue in The Hague, hilly stages around Sittard, and a concluding stage near Arnhem. Notably, the event will integrate the former Simac Ladies Tour, allowing both male and female cyclists to compete simultaneously on the same courses. This merger signifies a substantial step towards gender equality in the sport, providing equal platforms for athletes of all genders. (limburger.nl)
Eneco’s Return to Sponsorship
After a decade-long hiatus, Eneco, the Dutch energy company, is returning as the primary sponsor of the Eneco Tour. The partnership with TIG Sports & Events spans three years, with an option for a five-year extension, underscoring a commitment to a sustainable and long-term collaboration. Eneco’s involvement aligns with its mission to promote sustainable energy and mobility, reinforcing the company’s dedication to environmental responsibility. (nieuws.eneco.nl)
