WholeGrain Cycles, renowned for their innovative bikepacking solutions, has introduced two standout products: the CLIFF Bag Hanger and the CARRIE Cradle. These accessories aim to enhance the bikepacking experience by offering versatile and secure storage options.
CLIFF Bag Hanger
The CLIFF Bag Hanger is a handlebar-mounted cradle designed to provide a stable platform for various handlebar bags. Constructed from durable 304 stainless steel, it employs a clever boltless mounting system that attaches to handlebars of 31.8mm, 25.4mm, or 22.2mm diameters. The design includes two main hooks that secure the cradle to the handlebars, a steerer tube strap with a cam-lock buckle to prevent upward rotation, and a yellow load strap that loops under the stem to prevent downward rotation. This setup ensures a solid platform for most handlebar rolls, freeing up hand space and allowing cables to run freely without pressing against the headtube, thereby preventing damage and improving performance. The full system, including all accessories, weighs around 400 grams and has a 5-kilogram (11-pound) load capacity. It comes with shims for 31.8mm, 25.4mm, and 22.2mm bars. (bikepacking.com)
CARRIE Cradle
Designed to nest within the CLIFF, the CARRIE Cradle is a two-part system consisting of a cradle and a hard-wearing waterproof dry bag that offers 18 liters of storage. Its two primary compression straps loop through CLIFF’s upper slots and around the dry bag, and paired with the included lower strap, it creates a virtually movement-free system. The CARRIE also features various loops and MOLLE-style webbing to secure tent poles or other items, and the main faces have some structure thanks to internal recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) panels. The cradle weighs 350 grams, and the dry bag weighs 130 grams. (bikepacking.com)
