Continental Expands with 32mm Aero 111!

by VeloMagster

Continental has expanded its Aero 111 tyre range by introducing a new 32mm width, complementing the existing 26mm and 29mm options. This addition aims to provide cyclists with enhanced comfort without compromising aerodynamic performance.

The Aero 111 tyre, developed in collaboration with Swiss Side and DT Swiss, features a distinctive tread pattern with 48 vortex generator cavities. These cavities are designed to manage airflow around the front wheel, reducing drag and improving stability in crosswinds. The 32mm version retains these aerodynamic benefits, offering a balance between speed and comfort.

In terms of specifications, the 32mm Aero 111 weighs 310g, a 30g increase over the 29mm version. It is compatible with internal rim widths ranging from 16 to 25mm and is tubeless-ready, adhering to ETRTO guidelines. The tyre utilizes Continental’s BlackChili compound for low rolling resistance and exceptional grip, along with a Vectran breaker layer for puncture protection. The recommended retail price is £113.95.

Continental recommends pairing the Aero 111 front tyre with the Grand Prix 5000 S TR rear tyre, a combination used by professional riders, including Tadej Pogačar. This setup offers a harmonious blend of aerodynamics, comfort, and performance.

The introduction of the 32mm Aero 111 tyre reflects Continental’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of road cyclists, providing options that cater to both performance and comfort preferences.
