Celebrating a decade since pioneering the world’s first welded, waterproof bikepacking packs, Apidura has introduced a reimagined Expedition Series. This comprehensive overhaul reflects a decade of rider feedback and real-world testing, embodying the brand’s commitment to stability, waterproofing, and durability.
A Decade of Evolution
In 2016, Apidura set a new benchmark in bikepacking with the launch of the “Dry” Series, now known as the Expedition Series. The 2026 relaunch signifies the first major design overhaul since its inception. Over the past ten years, bikepacking has evolved dramatically, with multi-surface riding and all-road exploration becoming the norm. The updated Expedition Series reflects these shifts, refining stability, integration, and fit while preserving the simplicity that made the original a benchmark.

Stability, Waterproofing, and Durability
The Expedition Series prioritizes stability at every contact point between rider, pack, and bike. The new clamp-free Handlebar System eliminates movement without heavy hardware. Saddle Packs feature a Stability Channel that conforms to the seatpost, supported by silicone grip strips and a Hypalon Cradle to compress contents toward the base of the pack.
Waterproofing remains a core principle. The packs utilize fully seam-welded construction and an updated, lightweight three-layer fabric, enhancing performance without compromising protection. This builds on a decade of experience since Apidura pioneered welded waterproof bikepacking gear in 2016.
Durability is ensured through reinforcements in high-wear areas and solutions that reduce stress and flex, ensuring long-term reliability without unnecessary weight. Frame Packs incorporate Zipper Control Rails to improve structural stability around the zipper, preventing bulging when fully loaded and reducing stress for smooth operation. SoftVent Air Valves provide a lightweight, hardware-free system to maintain compression.
Availability
The new Expedition Series is available from March 20, 2026. The Expedition Handlebar System will be launched as a pre-order, with delivery to follow mid-April.
