Aero-Light: The Ultimate Gravel Revolution

by VeloMagster

Felt’s latest Breed gravel bike, unveiled in April 2026, seamlessly integrates aerodynamic road technology into the gravel segment, achieving a frame weight of just 950 grams in size 54. This design evolution results in a complete bike weight slightly over 7 kilograms, marking a 23% reduction from its 2022 predecessor. (cyclist.co.uk)

The Breed’s aerodynamic enhancements include a 10.5% reduction in drag, with frame geometry inspired by Felt’s Nexar aero road bike. Shared rider-fit dimensions between the Breed and Nexar ensure a consistent fit, while the Breed’s adapted geometry offers increased stability for gravel racing. A slacker head tube angle and extended wheelbase contribute to improved control and stability at speed. (cyclist.co.uk)

Designed for versatility, the Breed accommodates up to 54mm front and 52mm rear tires, with suspension-adjusted geometry allowing for the addition of a suspension fork. Full builds come equipped with 45mm Continental tires, and the frame supports up to four water-bottle cages. (cyclist.co.uk)

The integrated cockpit, shared with the Nexar, features a 300g claimed weight and offers seven stem-length and bar-width combinations, all with an 8-degree flare, ensuring a clean aesthetic and reduced drag. (cyclist.co.uk)

The Breed is available in four full builds, each featuring a Direct Mount SRAM 1x groupset:

  • Breed FRD: Equipped with SRAM Red XPLR AXS, a SRAM Red power meter, and Vision SC 45 SL wheels. Claimed weight: 7.04kg.

  • Breed Pro: Features SRAM Force XPLR/GX Eagle AXS, a SRAM Force power meter, and Vision SC 45 i23 wheels. Claimed weight: 7.86kg.

  • Breed Expert: Comes with SRAM Rival XPLR AXS and Vision SC 45 i23 wheels. Claimed weight: 8.30kg.

  • Breed Race: Includes SRAM Apex/S1000 Eagle AXS and Vision Team 30 i23 wheels. Claimed weight: 9.28kg.

Each model is designed to deliver high performance across diverse gravel terrains, combining aerodynamic efficiency with the ruggedness required for gravel racing. (cyclist.co.uk)
