MARIN MUIRWOODS 26(2026・40周年記念)|90年代MTBを現代に蘇らせたクロモリ復刻モデル – 京都の自転車屋 CYCLE SHOP eirin & サイクルハテナIn 1986, Marin Bikes introduced the Madrone Trail, a $200 promotional mountain bike that marked the brand’s entry into the cycling world. Fast forward four decades, and Marin has unveiled the Madrone Trail 40th Anniversary Edition, blending classic design with modern performance enhancements.
A Nod to the Past
The original Madrone Trail was Marin’s inaugural model, priced at $200 to make mountain biking accessible. Designer Joe Murray recalled, “When Marin came out with its first product line, it was just me. I made all the frame drawings on an early 512K Macintosh. Bob had the idea of a promotional bike to get things rolling – the Madrone Trail was about as low-cost as anyone could get and still be a functional mountain bike.” (bikepacking.com)
