In response to the extreme heat forecasted for Sunday, September 6, 2026, the organisers of the Vuelta a Espa\u00f1a have significantly altered Stage 15, which was originally set to cover 189.7 kilometres from Palma del R\u00edo to C\u00f3rdoba. The revised stage will now span 110.2 kilometres, with the neutralised start delayed to 2:50 PM and the official race start at 3:00 PM. The route modification will take effect from kilometre 52, where the race will divert onto the CO-3402 towards Santa Mar\u00eda de Trassierra, bypassing the previously planned A-3075 towards Villaviciosa de C\u00f3rdoba.
