A seasoned leader with a robust background in higher education and sports administration, Bonfield has been Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Westminster since 2018. His tenure at the university is marked by significant advancements in academic excellence and community engagement.<\/p>\n

An avid cyclist, Bonfield’s connection to the sport is both personal and professional. He has a history as a National Juvenile Circuit Race champion and has represented Great Britain at the Junior World Championships. His experience spans racing, coaching, and management, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of the cycling landscape.<\/p>\n

Beyond his athletic achievements, Bonfield has held prominent positions in various organizations. He served as President of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health. His advisory roles include contributions to UK government reviews and leadership positions in international organizations. Notably, he was part of the Olympic Delivery Authority, co-creating and implementing the London 2012 Sustainability Strategy and overseeing the development of the velodrome and cycling facilities within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.<\/p>\n
