Ursus, the Italian manufacturer renowned for its high-quality cycling components, has unveiled the Arya G wheelset, a cutting-edge solution tailored for all-road and fast gravel cycling. This innovative wheelset is engineered to seamlessly adapt to diverse terrains, ensuring consistent performance across various surfaces.

Innovative Design and Technology

At the heart of the Arya G is the OmniTune System™, a proprietary technology developed by Ursus. This system integrates Sapim RC-1 PBO spokes, crafted from polyphenylene benzobisoxazole—the world’s strongest man-made fibre. These spokes are woven into a Y-stars 2:1 pattern, enhancing tension distribution between the hub and rim. This configuration not only reduces vibrations but also maintains immediate responsiveness during accelerations and re-accelerations. Ursus claims that the Arya G 50, equipped with the OmniTune System™, diminishes vibrations on both asphalt and uneven terrains by 79.67% compared to the Proxima R50. This design strikes a balance between aerodynamic efficiency and stability across varied conditions. The tubeless-ready mini-hook rim profile ensures compatibility with a wide range of tires, enhancing versatility for riders. (rouleur.cc)

Performance and Testing

The Arya G wheelset has been rigorously tested in challenging environments. Notably, riders from Team Picnic-PostNL utilized the Arya G wheels during the Paris-Roubaix, a race notorious for its demanding cobblestone sectors. John Degenkolb, a member of Team Picnic-PostNL, remarked, “From the very first time I rode the Arya G on the cobbles during reconnaissance for the Spring Classics, I immediately felt the combination of stability and responsiveness, together with the absorption of the harsh impacts from the stones in the toughest sectors. Comfort is performance.” (rouleur.cc)

Specifications and Pricing

The Arya G wheelset is available for purchase on the Ursus website. (ursus.it)

In summary, the Ursus Arya G wheelset represents a significant advancement in cycling technology, offering a harmonious blend of speed, stability, and comfort.
