In a remarkable display of endurance, British cyclist Alex McCormack has set a new provisional seven-day distance world record, covering an astonishing 3,826.47 kilometers. This feat was achieved through relentless cycling along a 150-kilometer out-and-back route along the Moselle River in Koblenz, Germany. McCormack’s support team played a crucial role in his success, managing logistics, nutrition, and recovery. They ensured he consumed an estimated 14,000 calories daily to sustain his energy levels. Team member Harry Dowdney highlighted the difficulties posed by the weather:<\/p>\n

“The biggest thing for the support crew was to wake Alex after short naps and make sure he kept eating and drinking. There was no way he could replace those 14,000 calories. For this record-breaking attempt, McCormack utilized a custom Canyon Speedmax CFR, a time trial bike equipped with high-profile carbon wheels, integrated hydration systems, and a top tube bag.
