OneUp Components, renowned for their innovative cycling gear, has introduced the XC Clip Pedals, a cutting-edge addition to their lineup. Tailored for cross-country (XC) and racing enthusiasts, these pedals are engineered to offer exceptional performance while maintaining a lightweight and slim profile.

Design and Specifications

The XC Clip Pedals are distinguished by their ultra-thin design, measuring just 26.8mm at the binding and 14.4mm at the body, making them the thinnest dual-sided MTB clip pedals available. (oneupcomponents.com) This reduced thickness minimizes pedal strikes, enhancing clearance on technical terrains. Weighing 303 grams per pair, they are approximately 20 grams lighter than Shimano’s XTR M9200 pedals, offering a competitive edge for weight-conscious riders. (escapecollective.com)

Compatibility and Float

Designed to be SPD-compatible, the XC Clip Pedals allow riders to utilize Shimano cleats, ensuring a secure and reliable connection. They provide 5 degrees of float with a 12-degree release angle, accommodating a range of riding styles and preferences. (oneupcomponents.com)

Durability and Serviceability

Constructed with an inboard IGUS bushing and two outboard sealed cartridge bearings on a chromoly steel axle, the XC Clip Pedals are built for durability. The double-axle seal protects the internal components, extending the pedal’s lifespan. For ease of maintenance, a pedal bearing nut tool is included, facilitating straightforward disassembly and servicing. (oneupcomponents.com)

Adjustability and Fit

The pedals feature a wide range of release-tension adjustability, catering to both racers seeking a firm hold and beginners desiring a more forgiving release. An indicator is provided to easily match the tension across all four bindings, ensuring consistency. (oneupcomponents.com) Additionally, the inclusion of 1mm cleat spacers allows riders to fine-tune the cleat position for optimal shoe fit. (rei.com)

Pricing and Availability

The OneUp XC Clip Pedals are available for purchase at $159.99 USD, $218.99 CAD, £142.99, or €159.99. They are offered in six colors: Black, Bronze, Dark Blue, Dark Green, Grey, and Purple, allowing riders to match their bike aesthetics. (oneupcomponents.com)

In summary, the OneUp XC Clip Pedals combine a minimalist design with advanced features, providing cross-country and racing cyclists with a high-performance, lightweight, and durable pedal option.
