OneUp Components’ XC Clip Pedals: A Game-Changer for Cross-Country Riders

OneUp Components has unveiled its latest innovation: the XC Clip Pedals, designed specifically for cross-country (XC) enthusiasts seeking a lightweight, durable, and performance-oriented pedal system. Priced at $159.99, these pedals offer a compelling alternative to established options like Shimano’s XTR series.

Unparalleled Slimness and Weight

Weighing in at a mere 301 grams per pair—approximately 20 grams lighter than Shimano’s XTR M9200s—the OneUp XC Clip Pedals are among the lightest in their category. Their ultra-thin profile, measuring just 26.8mm in thickness, not only reduces weight but also minimizes the risk of pedal strikes, a common concern for XC riders navigating technical terrains. Featuring a large, downhill (DH)-sized platform, these pedals provide enhanced shoe support, boosting rider confidence and control. The design ensures that the platform actively engages with the shoe, offering a more connected feel compared to other clipless systems. (oneupcomponents.com)

Advanced Binding Mechanism

The custom stainless steel binding system offers 5° of float and a 12° release angle, delivering a secure yet forgiving engagement. This design ensures a locked-in feel without unwanted play, enhancing pedaling efficiency and rider safety. (oneupcomponents.com)

Adjustable Fit for Versatility

OneUp Components has prioritized adaptability with the inclusion of 1mm cleat spacers and removable traction pins. These features allow riders to fine-tune the pedal setup, accommodating various shoe types and personal preferences. (oneupcomponents.com)

Durability and Maintenance

Constructed with a chromoly steel axle and a bearing configuration that includes an inboard igus® bushing and three outboard sealed cartridge bearings, the XC Clip Pedals are built to withstand the rigors of XC racing and trail riding. The hollow threaded pins facilitate easy maintenance and replacement, ensuring longevity and consistent performance. (oneupcomponents.com)
