This groundbreaking technology integrates an 8-speed gearbox with wireless electronic shifting and a pedal-assist motor into a single, compact unit. The GD8’s design draws inspiration from automotive technology, where gears are housed within a sealed gearbox to protect them from external elements. Similarly, the GD8’s sealed unit shields the drivetrain from mud, dust, and potential damage from rock strikes or crashes. Maintenance is streamlined, requiring an oil change every 10,000 kilometers. In terms of performance, the GD8 boasts a 480% gear range, with electronic shifting actuated via a wireless Bluetooth remote.
